國際演藝評論家協會於1956年成立，為聯合國教育、科學及文化組織（UNESCO）轄下團體。1992年，香港成為國際演藝評論家協會第五個亞洲分會。自成立以來，國際演藝評論家協會（香港分會）（下稱本會）致力推動藝術評論，舉辦各類藝評活動，出版刊物，並參與國際會議及海外交流計劃。過去多年，本會一直獲得香港藝術發展局三年資助，會務得以積極發展，並與本地以至亞洲區內各演藝團體、藝術家建立了穩定的伙伴關係。

自1999年8月起，本會為擴闊發表藝評的空間，促進藝術生態發展，出版《演藝評論月報》，後改為《演藝評論雙月刊》。及至2002年11月，刊物正式命名為《藝評》（Artism）。除演藝評論文章外，《藝評》一直策劃不同專題熱話，探討演藝現象及文化議題。2013年12月，《藝評》移師網絡世界，改名為《Artism Online》。《Artism Online》以網上雜誌形式，透過文字、圖像、影片，以及多個不同面向的欄目，繼續創造更廣闊更具深度的藝評空間。

2021年，本會改革《Artism Online》，將由本會與國際劇評人協會（台灣分會）、澳門劇場文化學會共同策劃內容，並輪流擔任主編。我們期望這次改變會令演藝評論更具深度，且走得更遠。

The International Association of Theatre Critics (IATC) was founded in 1956 as a UNESCO-affiliated organisation to bring together theatre practitioners and theatre critics in order to promote international cooperation. In 1992, Hong Kong became the fifth branch of IATC in Asia. Since its establishment, IATC(HK) has been actively promoting theatre criticism in Hong Kong, through activities such as publishing various materials, as well as participation in international conferences and cultural exchange programmes. Over the years, IATC(HK) has been the recipient of a three-year grant from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Also, IATC(HK) has established partnerships and networks with local and Asian performing arts organisations.

To expand channels for expression and promote a healthy development of the performing arts ecosystem, IATC(HK) published the Theatre Critique Monthly in August 1999, and then the Theatre Critique Bi-Monthly. The publication was renamed as Artism in November 2002. Apart from publishing performing arts reviews, Artism has been creating different features and introducing hot topics to explore and discuss performing arts phenomena and cultural issues. In December 2013, Artism further explored its presentation in a digital format and became Artism Online. The online magazine Artism Online creates a wider and deeper channel for expression in words, images and videos from a number of columns of different perspectives.

Welcome to this new website of Artsim Online with a fresh look and new curatorial direction. Starting from 2021, the contents are collaboratively curated by IATC(HK), IATC Taiwan and the Macao Theatre Culture Institute. In future, we are looking forward to extending the horizons of performing arts criticism with this new platform.
